Dr. Joan Sy is a physician who believes medical care should be thoughtful, practical, and personal. Her early exposure to volunteering in hospitals, nursing homes, and community programs helped shape her lifelong commitment to patient-centered medicine.
Dr. Sy earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California, Riverside, then completed medical training at Western University of Health Sciences. She completed internship and residency training at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, one of the largest family medicine training programs in the country.
As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Sy incorporates a broad understanding of the interrelationship between body structure and function. In addition to standard medical care, she may include osteopathic manipulative treatment, including gentle craniosacral-style techniques, when clinically appropriate.
Dr. Sy has practiced medicine for more than 15 years, including prior practice in Moreno Valley with hospital and nursing facility responsibilities. She now serves patients in Orange County with an emphasis on preventive care, continuity, and clear physician guidance over time.
Her experience as a patient during childhood hospitalization continues to influence how she practices today: with compassion, clarity, and respect for the vulnerability patients often feel when seeking care.
Our staff is committed to helping patients feel welcomed, informed, and supported at each step of care.
